Dennis Flynn is an officer with the Central Intelligence Agency who repeatedly contacts Black Dynamite to convince him to come out of retirement for one last mission.
Description[]
Dennis Flynn is a tall, grizzled white man with auburn hair, a full beard, and an eyepatch over his right eye. He is only ever seen wearing the dress uniform and green beret of a US Army Special Forces Officer, despite being affiliated with the CIA.
History[]
Early Life[]
In the 1960s, he joined the Central Intelligence Agency, where he oversaw agents like Black Dynamite and Larry Tureaud. It is unclear whether he was ever directly deployed to Vietnam with Bravo Company, but he clearly held a higher rank than its members. Black Dynamite considered him to be "the only cool cracker" he ever knew in his time at the CIA.
When Colonel Tureaud, Black Dynamite's former partner, was revealed to still be alive under the name Mr. T and a rogue agent in Vietnam, Flynn sent numerous agents to hunt him down. However, Mr. T killed every one of them, cannibalized them with his homemade barbecue sauce, and sent their skulls back to the CIA as a warning. Flynn tasted the residual sauce on the bones and became addicted, desperate to hunt Mr. T down and steal the sauce for himself.
Events of the Series[]
When Black Dynamite is attempting to seduce the secret of Massa Fried Chicken's herbs and spices out of an employee, Flynn flies up in a helicopter and interrupts his coitus. He recruits Black Dynamite to stop children's entertainer That Frog Kurtis from enacting an unknown plot, winning him over by promising that it wouldn't be for the honkies, but for the kids.
Flynn and a squad of soldiers later interrupt Black Dynamite when he's giving a Kung Fu lesson to Cream Corn. Black Dynamite defeats the soldiers and is angry at Flynn for interrupting his Kung Fu, but Flynn points out that Black Dynamite only specified not to interrupt him when he's seducing, interrogating, and jumping rope. He's recruited to return to Vietnam and terminate his former CIA partner, Larry Tureaud. Black Dynamite initially rebuffs Flynn's orders, but heads to Vietnam anyway in hopes of saving his friend from Flynn.
Flynn Black Dynamite in hopes of finding Mr. T's base of operations, with the goal of swooping in and stealing his barbecue sauce. He attempts to do just that, proclaiming that it'll help him win the annual barbecue contest, and orders his men to kill Black Dynamite. However, Black Dynamite and Mr. T team up, killing the soldiers. Flynn is last shown being thrown in a vat of barbecue sauce with the dead soldiers, but apparently survives.
He later appears on the screen of Eartha K.I.T.T.'s dashboard to inform George Washington Carver III about the disappearance of Menthol X during the Race War.

- Flynn's eyepatch is on his left eye in the pilot, but on his right eye in "Apocalypse, This."
- His appearance may be based on Big Boss from the Metal Gear franchise of video games.
